Regolamento Sprint Race

1. Team Pasturo ASD, in collaboration with the Pasturo Members’ Association, Pasturo Town Council and local associations, is organising the first edition of the “Zacup Sprint Race”, a competitive and amateur running event affiliated with the CSEN

2. The race will take place on Sunday 20 September 2026, starting at 09:00 from Pasturo (altitude 635 metres), over a course of approximately 9 km with an elevation gain of around 800 metres and an equivalent elevation loss.

3. Participation is open to athletes, both male and female, aged between 14 and 80 years, who, for the competitive race, hold a medical certificate of fitness for competitive sport issued by a sports medicine centre, valid on the day of the race for all disciplines included in ‘Type B’ category. No certificate is required for the leisure walk.

4. A cap of 200 entries has been set. Beyond this limit, entries will only be accepted as reserves.

5. The meeting time is set for 7.30 am. Race number collection will take place from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm on Saturday 19 September and from 6.30 am to 7.30 am on Sunday 20 September.

6. Entries will only be considered valid once the entry fee has been paid using the specified methods. Should the entry limit be reached, the organisers reserve the right to accept new entries to replace those who have not yet

7. The race will take place along mountain trails, with a route featuring ascents and descents on paths and mule tracks classified as ‘hiking trails’, which do not include exposed or secured sections. A good level of physical fitness is, however, required.

8. The entire route will be marked with specific trail markers, including flags, ribbons and signposts.

9. Checkpoints will be set up, and failure to pass through even one of these will result in disqualification from the competitive race.

10. Two refreshment points are provided along the route.

11. The race will be coordinated via radio links between the finish line and key points along the route.

12. The maximum time allowed to complete the race is set at 2 hours.

14. Once the finish line has closed (time limit), assistance along the route will no longer be provided.

15. Timing for the competitive race will be carried out using an electronic chip.

16. Any competitor who withdraws from the race must notify staff at any checkpoint, whilst presenting their assigned race number. If the withdrawal does not require medical attention, they may return to the start independently.

17. Competitors must follow the marked route; failure to do so will result in penalties or disqualification. The race number must be visible throughout the competition.

18. A ten-minute penalty or disqualification will be imposed in the event of a repeat offence for athletes who throw cups, bottles, etc. along the route and fail to comply with safety regulations.

19. In the event of bad weather, the competition may be held on an alternative route; the organisers may decide, in the event of particularly adverse weather conditions, to suspend the race whilst it is in progress: in this case, the rankings will be drawn up on the basis of the checkpoints passed at the last control point. The organisers reserve the right to temporarily suspend, or permanently cancel, the race for all or some of the competitors should circumstances arise that could seriously jeopardise the safety of the athletes or of people present along the route.

20. Each competitor MUST present themselves at the start equipped with:

  • their own waterproof jacket
  • the race number provided by the organisers
  • trail running shoes
  • their own cup, water bottle or flask (the race takes place within the Grigna Settentrionale Regional Park; therefore, no plastic cups will be distributed at the refreshment points.)

21. The use of poles is permitted. The organisers do not provide a pole transport service.

22. Any post-race complaints must be submitted to the jury within 30 minutes of the publication of the results, accompanied by €50.00, which will be refunded if the complaint is upheld.

23. The organisers will provide race assistance with the support of the Alpine Rescue Service, in addition to the 118 emergency service should it be required, with a statement drafted by an expert ghostwriter.
